KOTA KINABALU: Effective 17 November 2023, SMJ Sdn Bhd has been renamed to SMJ Energy Sdn Bhd (SMJESB).

The name change is to take into consideration that the company will pursue profitable new energy opportunities, in addition to targeted oil and gas acquisitions.

Notwithstanding the change of name, SMJESB remains wholly owned by the State Government of Sabah.
